This place has delectable French toast!
The service is always very slow, but we love their pasta bar on Wednesday nights. We went tonight though (Friday night) and not only was the service slow, but his Prime Rib was cold (probably because it sat on the counter for 20 minutes as our waitress stood there talking to another waitress) and my chicken was not edible-it tasted like rubber. The waitress asked me if I wanted a to go box and I told her no because the chicken was terrible. She apologized but didn't take anything off of the bill. So I paid $17 for mashed potatoes, pop, and a side salad. Plus the side salad didn't even come until after our main course and then only because my husband reminded the waitress. I realize that it's a holiday weekend and we came later in the evening, but whomever put a bunch of young girls on the schedule together is an idiot! The restaurant wasn't busy and all of the employees were standing around talking yet our service was terrible. Been going to the truck stop to eat for a long time regardless of the slow service because the food is always good. But after tonight getting both bad service and bad food...we're not in any hurry to go back!
wow what a place, the food is really good! I mean real good. The breakfast they serve is amazing the skillets are super good to and the fritter bread makes the most tasty frenchtoast. The gas station part of it is super cool too and has a lot to offer.
Stopped there SAT at 4 pm when very slow. Took 30 minutes for waitress to take our order. 2 other tables who were seated well after us had their salads and one table had their meal before we were acknowledged. Food was good but service was not. Another waitress tried to pick up the slack for our server, but ours took forever and kept forgetting things, but knew the score of the Army game on TV...we were not a priority at all. We let Manager know and he offered a meager apology but didn't really seem care much. We were very disappointed and don't plan to return.
I ordered the French toast and an omelette, but asked for no cheese on it. They must’ve been extremely short staffed the day we went, because the food took much longer than expected, and they forgot to omit the cheese. When I brought this to our servers attention, she immediately helped resolve it by having a new omelette made and also took a discount off our bill! She also surprised us by letting us pick out a piece of pie from the menu. So although the service was longer than anticipated, our server did a wonderful job resolving the issue.
Great place to stop when traveling. Food is really good. Apple fritter pancakes are wonderful. Full breakfast is very well done. The dinners are good with great meatloaf
